Yesterday evening was the already almost traditional webtuesday meeting (see the impressions). A full success IMHO. Approx. 20 people from many different projects listened to Urbanâs talk about the search.ch infrastructure and scalability in general. The tillate.ch, local.ch and endoxon people also shared their knowledge and experiences. After more than 2 hours talking in the namics office, we moved over to El Lokal, had a beer and ordered many many pizzas from the pizza delivery, which didn't have a very good scale-out topology and we had to wait until 23:30 until we finally had something to eat :)
Many thanks to Urban for the interesting talk and namics for letting us use their office space.
The next webtuesday is already planned for the 13 June. Patrice will talk about Ruby on Rails (which he uses on list.blogug.ch). Exact place and time are to be defined :)
We also set up an announcement mailinglist for webtuestay. If you don't want to miss the next meetings, subscribe to it, or just watch the webtuesday webpage.
And if you have an interesting topic to talk about, just get in contact with me, Harry or Maarten. Webtuesday is not only about PHP anymore, but this whole web stuff in general. The only thing to keep in mind is that the target audience are techies, so no marketing âgeblubberâ please :)
And we're constantly looking for rooms to held those meetings. It should have space for approx. 20 people (most meeting rooms should have that space, if you sit close enough together :) ), preferably not too far away from the HB and even more preferably having a nice restaurant nearby, which can host all those people afterwards (but the later two are really only nice-to-haves). So if you can offer such a room, or know where to get one, please stand up and also get in contact with us.
